Ziad Elsissy

Ziad Elsissy

Head Coach

Ziad Elsissy is a two-time Olympian and one of the world's top saber fencers. A native of Alexandria, Egypt, he made history as the first African and Arab sabre fencer to reach the world No. 1 ranking, win a Grand Prix title, and earn a medal at the World Championships. His fourth-place finish at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games remains the highest Olympic result in Egyptian saber fencing history. As the founder and head coach of Z1 Fencing, Ziad is dedicated to developing the next generation of champions through elite training, mentorship, and a commitment to excellence both on and off the piste.

Mohamed Amer

Mohamed Amer

Coach

Mohamed Amer is a three-time Olympian for Egypt, a three-time African Champion, and the first Egyptian, Arab, and African fencer to reach the World No. 1 ranking in Junior Men’s Sabre. His outstanding career includes a sixth-place finish at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and a historic bronze medal at the 2015 Junior World Championships. After competing at the highest international level, Mohamed began coaching in the United States in 2023, helping young athletes achieve podium finishes and reach their potential. His coaching focuses on technical excellence, discipline, confidence, resilience, and developing champions both on and off the piste.

Yassin Agamy

Yassin Agamy

Coach

Yassin Agamy is a two-time African Champion, Mediterranean Champion, and Arab Champion, as well as a dedicated fencing coach at Z1 Fencing. A former member of the Egyptian National Team, he helped the team achieve a #3 ranking in the FIE junior world standings.

As a coach, Yassin has guided athletes to national and international medals, combining elite competitive experience with technical expertise, tactical development, and a strong focus on building confidence and continuous improvement. His coaching philosophy goes beyond competition building champions both on and off the piste.

Endrit Kaliqani

Endrit Kaliqani

Physical Trainer

Endrit Kaliqani is the Physical Trainer at Z1 Fencing, dedicated to building the strength, speed, endurance, and mobility that athletes need to perform at their highest level. He designs structured training programs tailored to the demands of fencing, helping athletes improve their athletic performance while reducing the risk of injury. Working closely with fencers of all ages and abilities, Endrit focuses on developing physical resilience, explosive movement, and long-term fitness. His science-based approach and commitment to continuous improvement ensure every athlete is physically prepared to meet the challenges of training and competition with confidence and consistency.

Zeyad Nofal

Zeyad Nofal

Coach

Zeyad Nofal is a coach at Z1 Fencing and an active competitive sabre fencer who brings current, high-level experience directly to the training piste. As a dedicated athlete, he continues to compete while helping develop the next generation of fencers through technical instruction, tactical insight, and individualized coaching. His firsthand understanding of modern competition enables him to guide athletes with practical strategies and a performance-focused mindset. Passionate about continuous improvement, Zeyad creates a supportive and disciplined environment where fencers build confidence, sharpen their skills, and strive for excellence both in training and in competition.
