Welcome to Z1 Fencing
Welcome to Z1 Fencing (“Club,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By registering for classes, private lessons,
events, or any other activities at our facility, you (“Member,” “Parent/Guardian,” or “Participant”)
agree to comply with the following Terms of Service.
Summarized below are key policies, rules and expectations of Z1 Fencing Club. Policies apply to all
members to ensure we create an exceptional experience for everyone.
Under the membership agreement, you are responsible for complying with all Z1 Fencing Club policies,
including without limitation those outlined in this document. Z1 Fencing Club reserves the right to
cancel, revoke, or suspend your membership for any violation of Z1 Fencing Policies.
Membership & Registration
Membership starts from the date you register and payment is received. To be considered a member you
must register and pay on an annual and/or monthly basis. Membership fees are non-refundable.

Membership and participation are open to individuals who complete the required registration forms
and, where applicable, have parental/guardian consent if under 18.

All information provided during registration must be accurate and up to date including credit
cards.

Membership includes annual unlimited classes.

All monthly membership payments will be automatically charged to the credit card on file according
to the applicable membership payment schedule.

Membership packages cannot be prorated.

Tournament Coaching is mandatory. Tournament fees will cover travel, lodging, and strip coaching.
All fees will depend on the tournament location and staff attending.
Session Cancellation
You may cancel or reschedule your session up to twenty-four (24) hours before the session is due to
start.
If you cancel or reschedule with less than twenty-four (24) hours prior notice, or if you fail to show
up
to your session, you will be charged for the full cost of the session.
You are not entitled to any refund for, or reinstatement of, any late-cancelled or missed session.
Expiration of Sessions
All sessions expire at the end of the season unless a different expiration date is stated in writing
by Z1 Fencing Club.
No Refunds of Sessions
All sales of sessions and equipment sales are final and non-refundable, except as required by law.
Sessions have no cash value and are non-transferable and non-descendible.
Sessions may be used only during the term of your membership. If you have any unused sessions at the
time your membership is cancelled, you will not be entitled to a refund.
Good Standing
Z1 Fencing Club reserves the right to prohibit you from accessing and entering the club if there are
outstanding past-due or overdue amounts payable to Z1 Fencing Club, or if your membership is
otherwise not in good standing.
Cancellation Policy

You must inform us in writing if you decide to cancel your membership. If you decide to return
during the same season you will incur a $150 fee when you re-register after cancellation.

Notice by email is needed 24 hours in advance for all cancellations.

You must reschedule the lesson with the Coach within the following 7 days. If the lesson is not
rescheduled you will be charged for the lesson. It is your responsibility to request the make-up
session.

There are no make-up sessions for trial classes or trial lessons.

Email
info@z1fencing.com for cancellations. If correspondence is not received you will be charged
for the sessions.

If you miss more than 2 private lessons in a row you may lose your scheduled time slot. The
Coach is not obligated to reschedule and you will be charged.
Payment & Refund Policy

Payment for annual class membership and private lessons must be made in advance.

Missed classes or lessons are non-refundable.

Refunds may be granted only in cases of extended injury, illness, or relocation, at the discretion
of
Z1 Fencing and the Coach.

Membership dues and fees are subject to change; members will be notified of any changes in advance.

Private lessons must be paid for before the scheduled lesson. If a lesson has not been paid for in
advance, it will be charged as an individual lesson at the applicable individual lesson rate and
will not be deducted from a future lesson package.
Scheduling & Attendance

Class and lesson schedules are subject to change based on enrollment, holidays, or unforeseen
circumstances.

The Club will make reasonable efforts to notify members of schedule changes in advance.

Participants are expected to arrive on time and ready to fence.
Code of Conduct
You are expected to act in a respectful and socially acceptable manner while using Z1 Fencing Club
and to be mindful of other individuals’ physical and personal space. You may not engage in behavior
or conduct that Z1 Fencing Club, in its discretion, considers unruly or inappropriate, including without
limitation harassing, badgering, antagonizing, taunting, threatening, abusing, touching, or otherwise
acting in an aggressive, unsportsmanlike, indecent, or inappropriate manner towards any other member,
guest, employee, or other individual.
- Treat coaches, staff, and fellow members with courtesy and respect.
- Follow all posted rules, safety instructions, and staff directions.
- Refrain from any harassment, bullying, or unsportsmanlike behavior.
- Maintain proper hygiene and care for Club facilities and equipment.
Z1 Fencing Club reserves the right to remove you from the Club and/or revoke, cancel, suspend,
or otherwise limit your membership, and/or notify law enforcement authorities if you engage in
any conduct or behavior that Z1 Fencing Club, in its discretion, considers inappropriate, indecent,
unsafe, unlawful, or otherwise in violation of Club Policies.
To ensure a safe and respectful environment, all members, parents, and guests must comply with
these expectations at all times.
Waiver
Any member or student taking classes, lessons, or using Z1 Fencing Club facilities will be required
to sign a waiver of liability. A parent or legal guardian must sign for participants under the age
of eighteen (18).
Limited Liability Waiver
Cell Phone & Camera Usage
No Cell Phone and Camera Use in Private Areas:
Using cell phones, cameras, or any other recording devices in the Z1 Fencing Club changing rooms
and other private spaces like shower rooms is strictly prohibited.
Other Cell Phone and Camera Use:
As a courtesy to other members, you may NOT speak on your cell phone or utilize any
video chat
applications while on the Z1 fencing floor. You may take photos or videos in public areas of Z1 Fencing
Club
(including without limitation the fencing floor, gym, parents’ room, and children’s study room) solely
for your personal use.
- You may not take photos or videos in Z1 Fencing Club to promote your or any third party’s business,
products, or services.
- Use of any lighting, tripods, or other such equipment is prohibited.
- You are expected to be respectful of other members, and you may not intentionally film another
individual without their permission.
- If you post online or on social media a photo or video taken at Z1 Fencing Club and another
individual appearing in that content complains, Z1 Fencing Club reserves the right to ask you to
remove the post.
Equipment & Safety
The fencing floor is designated for fencers only. Non-participants must stay in the observation area.

All participants must wear appropriate fencing gear, including masks, jackets, gloves, and
protective
plastrons, as required by the Club’s safety policy.
- Fencing weapons must be carried with points down or in a fencing bag.

Warm-up and stretches are required before a lesson or practice. Students need to arrive 15 minutes
early
to warm up for class/lesson.
- Members are responsible for their personal equipment unless renting from the Club.
- Any unsafe equipment or conditions must be reported to staff immediately.
- Walking or standing close to the fencers when blades are raised or in motion is prohibited.
- Rough play or dangerous actions are prohibited whether intentional or not.
Failure to abide by Z1 Fencing Club safety rules may result in termination of membership.
Bag Storage & Changing Room
Bag storage is provided solely for your benefit and convenience. No rolling bags are
permitted.
You are responsible for your own equipment and clothing. Z1 Fencing Club will remove any article left
overnight.
Z1 Fencing Club is not liable for any loss or damage to your items that have been left behind.
Personal Property
You should avoid bringing valuable property onto Z1 Fencing Club premises.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Z1 FENCING CLUB WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR
THE LOSS OR THEFT OF, OR DAMAGE TO, ANY PERSONAL PROPERTY OF YOU OR YOUR GUESTS,
INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY ITEMS LEFT IN CHANGING ROOMS, SHOWERS, BAG STORAGE,
GYM, FENCING FLOOR, OR ELSEWHERE IN Z1 FENCING CLUB.
Dress Code
You are required to wear appropriate athletic attire and footwear when using any Z1 Fencing Club
equipment
and participating in any group class, private lesson, physical training session, or other activities.
Z1 Fencing Club may deny you use of its facilities if you do not wear proper attire and footwear, as
determined
at the Club’s discretion.
Z1 Fencing attire is a requirement at all tournaments.
Weapons
FIREARMS AND OTHER WEAPONS OF ANY KIND ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED from being brought
into Z1 Fencing Club facilities, even if you have a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver
Fencing is a physical sport involving potential risk of injury. By participating, you acknowledge and
agree that:

You (or your child) assume full responsibility for any risk of personal injury, property damage,
or another loss that may occur.

You release and hold harmless Z1 Fencing and its owners, instructors, employees, volunteers,
and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, or expenses arising from participation in Club
activities.

Participants must follow all safety instructions, wear appropriate protective gear, and use
equipment as directed.

Media Release
By participating, you grant Z1 Fencing permission to use photos, videos, or other media featuring you
(or your child) for promotional purposes, unless you opt out in writing.
Health & Medical Emergencies

Members must disclose any relevant medical conditions prior to participation. Any illness, injury,
or medical problems must be reported to the instructor before or during practice.

In the event of an emergency, the Club may administer basic first aid and/or contact emergency
services.

The Club is not responsible for any medical expenses incurred as a result of injury or illness.
COVID-19 & Communicable Diseases

Members agree to follow any health and safety guidelines implemented by the Club, including
mask policies, sanitization procedures, and attendance restrictions during illness.

Participation is voluntary, and members assume the risk of potential exposure to communicable
diseases.
Tournament / Strip Coaching Fees
Strip coaching fees for tournaments are mandatory. These fees cover the cost of airfare,
transportation to and from the venue, and hotel if an overnight stay is required.
These fees are mandatory for all Z1 fencers competing.

Fees may vary depending on the location of the tournament.

Costs are calculated based on the number of registrations at each tournament and are
divided equally among the fencers participating.

If a fencer does not show up to a registered event or cancels within one week of the
tournament, the fencer is still responsible for the coaching fees.

Coaching fees must be paid to Z1 Fencing Club within one week from the date of the tournament.
Termination of Membership
The Club may terminate or suspend membership, without refund, for:
- Violation of these Terms
- Unsafe behavior
- Non-payment of fees
- Actions detrimental to the safety and well-being of others
Agreement & Acknowledgment
By signing up for classes, lessons, or memberships, you acknowledge that:
- You have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service.
- You understand the risks associated with fencing and assume full responsibility for participation.

If the participant is a minor, the parent or legal guardian consents to their participation
and agrees to these terms on their behalf.
