Z-Start

Ages: 5-7

Fundamentals, fun, and a safe introduction to fencing.

Designed for new fencers, this program introduces the basics of sabre fencing through structured lessons, drills, and games. Students learn proper stance, footwork, blade work, and safety—all in a supportive environment that builds confidence and discipline.

  • Class Format: Small group instruction, and light bouting
  • Trial Available: Yes – Free first class! Equipment provided
  • Recommended: 1+ lessons weekly

Z-Youth

Ages: 8–14

Skill building, strategy, and competitive prep

This program is for young fencers who are ready to go beyond the basics. Students refine their technique, develop tactical awareness, and begin structured sparring and competition preparation. Ideal for fencers looking to start competing regionally and nationally.

  • Class Format: Group conditioning, footwork, drills, tactical scenarios, and bouting
  • Expectations: Consistent attendance and a growing competitive mindset
  • Recommended: 2+ lessons weekly

Z-Elite

Competitive

High-performance training, advanced tactics, and competition results

Built for experienced fencers aiming for peak performance. Sessions emphasize refined technique, high-intensity conditioning, tactical decision-making, and coached bouting with competition preparation. Ideal for athletes targeting strong results at regional, national and international events.

  • Class Format: Advanced conditioning, footwork & drills, bout strategies, and coached bouting.
  • Expectations: Consistent attendance, goal tracking, and an active competition plan
  • Recommended: 3+ lessons weekly

Our Founder

Ziad Elsissy, one of the world's top saber fencers, is the driving force behind Z1 Fencing's high-performance program.

A two-time Olympian from Alexandria, Egypt, Ziad made history as the first African and Arab sabre fencer to top the world rankings, win a Grand Prix, and medal at the World Championships.

His electrifying run at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where he placed fourth, marked the highest Olympic finish in Egyptian saber fencing history.

Beyond his own achievements, Ziad is a sought-after coach, guiding his students to reach their highest potential and succeed nationally and internationally.

With his leadership, Z1 Fencing is more than a club—it's where future champions are forged.
